Training in newborn resuscitation, Massinga

Our health systems strengthening coordinator, Argentina Munguambe, shared an especially inspiring story recently. In September, our continuing education sessions for health workers focused on emergency newborn care. Following a Training of Trainers refresher course, on-site training sessions were held at 25 health facilities, most of which were in remote areas.

Baby resuscitated during training, Gotite

When the training team arrived at the rural health facility in Gotite, Morrumbene, they found the health worker on duty struggling to help a newborn baby in distress who was suffering from asphyxiation. Together, the group was able to safely attend to the emergency. The baby survived and was able to go home with her mother.

Congratulations team!
