The Mozambique Canada Maternal Health program joins in celebrating Mozambican women on this important day. Women’s equality is key to women’s maternal and sexual health, and key to a better society for all.

We support women in accessing rights and services for themselves and their children to enhance their lives.

In our work, women participate equally in village health committees to exercise leadership in their communities on project activities in health and community development.

One of the areas of work is the establishment of microprojects that provide a means of income to women, develop skills to operate equipment and manage microenterprises, and contribute to community health and development. Twenty microprojects are now established in Inhambane Province. Their activities range from grinding flour to chicken production.

Women gather to discuss community health issues.
